Senior Enterprise Architect

About the Role

As a Senior Enterprise Architect, you will lead architecture engagements across our enterprise client base, shaping target-state designs, guiding transformation programmes, and helping senior stakeholders make clear technology and business decisions.

You will work with CIOs, CTOs, business leaders, delivery teams, and partner organisations to define practical architecture direction across business, application, data, integration, and technology domains. You will be expected to bring structure to complex environments, translate strategy into execution, and support clients through change with clear governance, strong communication, and sound architectural judgement.

This role suits an experienced Enterprise Architect with a strong consulting or delivery background, recognised certification such as TOGAF, SAFe, or similar, and the confidence to present recommendations to C-suite audiences. You should be comfortable leading workshops, assessing current-state landscapes, defining roadmaps, reviewing solution designs, and supporting delivery teams as they move from strategy into implementation.

You will be accountable for the quality of architecture outputs across your engagements, including architecture assessments, principles, standards, roadmaps, operating models, governance materials, executive briefings, and transition plans. You will also help develop architecture capability within client teams, ensuring recommendations are practical, commercially aware, and aligned to measurable business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include leading enterprise architecture discovery and design activities, defining target-state architectures, identifying gaps and risks, supporting portfolio and transformation planning, and advising senior client stakeholders on technology strategy, operating model choices, and delivery trade-offs. You will also contribute to architecture governance, review boards, delivery assurance, and the development of reusable architecture methods and assets.

You should bring strong experience across enterprise architecture delivery, stakeholder management, architecture governance, transformation planning, and executive communication. Experience in complex enterprise environments, regulated sectors, M&A integration, ERP or HCM transformation, cloud adoption, data strategy, or integration architecture would be valuable.

This is a senior client-facing role. You will need to combine strategic thinking with practical delivery experience, communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical audiences, and build trust with senior decision-makers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead enterprise architecture engagements for FTSE 250 and enterprise clients across sectors including manufacturing, financial services, defence, and retail
• Define target-state architectures and produce high-quality architecture decision records, roadmaps, and governance artefacts
• Facilitate architecture review boards and govern technology decisions across complex programmes
• Present to and influence C-suite and senior technology leadership — translating architecture into business outcomes
• Mentor junior architects and contribute to Co Valere's architecture practice, standards, and methodologies
• Support pre-sales activity including architecture assessments, proposals, and client workshops

Requirements

• TOGAF / SAFe (or similar) certified (Foundation and Practitioner minimum)
• Minimum 8 years of enterprise architecture experience, with demonstrable track record in senior delivery roles
• Proven experience governing architecture across multiple domains: business, application, data, and technology
• Outstanding stakeholder management skills — comfortable at board level
• Experience in at least two of our key sectors (manufacturing, financial services, defence, retail, healthcare)
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to produce board-quality architecture documentation
