Integration and Automation Engineer – Workato

Hybrid (Cyprus) or Remote

We are seeking a highly skilled Integration and Automation Engineer with proven, hands-on experience in Workato to join our growing technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in designing, developing, and supporting intelligent integration and automation solutions that enable seamless connectivity and process efficiency across our customers’ technology landscape.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver robust, scalable, and secure automation solutions leveraging Workato’s integration and workflow orchestration capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain integration and automation solutions using Workato.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver scalable recipes and workflows.
Build and manage API-based and event-driven integrations, ensuring adherence to enterprise architecture standards.
Ensure best practices are followed in relation to recipe design, data transformation, error handling, and performance optimization.
Support continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, version control, and governance of Workato assets.
Contribute to the evolution of our integration and automation strategy, with a focus on reusability, modularity, and low-maintenance design.
Participate in troubleshooting, incident resolution, and ongoing monitoring of integration solutions.
Stay current with Workato features, connectors, and broader automation trends, recommending enhancements where appropriate.

Key Requirements

Hands-on experience with Workato, including recipe development, API management, and connector configuration.
Strong knowledge of integration and automation design patterns and principles.
Familiarity with CI/CD processes, Git-based version control, and DevOps practices.
Proficiency with REST and SOAP APIs, JSON, XML, SQL, and related technologies.
Understanding of security best practices for integration, including OAuth, SAML, and API security.
Experience integrating with mainstream enterprise applications such as SAP, Salesforce, NetSuite, ServiceNow, or Workday.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across business and technical teams.

Desirable

Workato Automation Pro or Workato Recipe Lifecycle Management certification(s).
Exposure to other integration or automation platforms (MuleSoft, Boomi, Logic Apps, Power Automate, etc.).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with Agile delivery methodologies.

The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders across the business to deliver robust, scalable, and secure integration and automation solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design, develop, and maintain integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform.
Collaborate with business and technical teams to understand requirements and deliver appropriate integration solutions.
Build and manage APIs, system integrations, and workflows in line with enterprise architecture standards.
Ensure best practices are followed in relation to API development, security, and performance.
Support continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using build automation tools such as Maven or similar.
Contribute to the evolution of our integration architecture, with a particular focus on automation and reusability.
Participate in troubleshooting and incident resolution activities when integration issues arise.
Work on event-driven integration solutions, with exposure to technologies such as Kafka seen as highly desirable.
Stay current with integration and automation trends and recommend improvements.

Key Requirements:

Hands-on experience with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API development, deployment, and management.
Strong knowledge of integration design patterns and principles.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools, ideally Maven, Jenkins, or similar.
Experience working with event-driven or message-based integration platforms, with Kafka exposure being advantageous.
Proficiency with RESTful APIs, JSON, XML, and related technologies.
Understanding of security best practices for integration, including authentication and authorisation approaches.
Experience with building integration with mainstream business applications such as SAP, Salesforce, ServiceNow etc.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.

Desirable:

MuleSoft Certification(s).
Exposure to other automation or integration platforms Workato, Boomi,  Logic Apps or Power Automate.
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.).
